- For me Nude is pure and natural.
- For a range of complex social reasons, thoughts of our own body have been distorted.
- This plain white dress is the metaphoric symbol of body and white itself the purity.
- The words ‘nude’ stitch with red thread in different language of the world which is a stitch as like something design/pattern, which is the metaphoric representation of shell/cover of that white dress (body).
- Separated each and every part of that body (dress), which has its own name and importance.
- The whole body itself nude but after dissecting the body then it becomes only a part.
- The red thread and the background is the metaphor of a life, blood and the focus. As a performance artist for me, the body is a main element to express my thoughts, so whenever I think about ‘nude’ all of these six points are roaming in my mind, then I took my white dress from the previous performance as a metaphor for my own body to understand the nudity.

This painting is made by imagining about the new world .Now the technology has reached the top and has made robots of different kinds. Robot has started doing all the works that humans do. A robot does a variety of works like cooking ,lifting heavy loads ,guarding a house carrying medicines at hospital etc .Beside these other different types of model of robots are also being made. Such as bee, housefly, butterfly etc which have been doing work since long .In the future ,the number of robots will increase rapidly more than the population of human being and this present world will turn into the world of robotic age. In the days to come, the robots will be able to bear children like human being by keeping sexual intercourse with human being and will reach to that level. From this I was influenced and studied deeply about this subject matter and felt the beginning of the new era and made this painting. I have shown not only human beings, robots and natural insects as well. Because of this situation the coming generation will be affected greatly so we shouldnot let robots to take the place of human being .We should be careful about it.

The logic of capitalism is using others for achieving their aspirations tactically in the existing capitalist economic pattern. The man who builds fake relationships plants the unsatisfactory competitiveness of capitalism as a beautiful object in others’ minds. The common genuine humanities are destructed, because of the acting that is a human trying to show considering the falsehood to be a reality.
My effort is presenting the nakedness of capitalism through the figure of women. Here, the woman figure has been created as an oppressive free posture. Also, the idea behind this is, society is allured by her and allowing others to reach her easily.
Black, White, Brown, and Canvas color have been used to the feminine figure to express the rhythm of life while hiding identity. The purpose of the fragmented colorful background that is including with sharp geometrical shapes is to give a clue about capitalist social instability to the viewer.

In drawing the figure with simple media we are engaging in an ancient enterprise with a universal aim, to evoke in the viewer a feeling. In the case of the nude figure, an enormous range of feelings is possible—from down-to-earth to transporting. At a minimum there needs to be a recognition on the part of the viewer of the presence, in the work, of another. It is of the utmost challenge for a third individual engaged in this venture, the artist, to achieve an elusive and profound three-way connection.

I love nudes and enjoy a sense of humour. I also always liked the idea of a pregnant angel. The painting shows two angels. And this takes place in paradise. One angel has a full, generous pregnant belly. She is with child. This has never happened in heaven before: and the High Council for Angelic Welfare has just adjourned. The pregnant angel has been shamed. De-haloed. Soon, she will loose her wings, and will be banished to earth to live with mere mortals. Her best friend offers comfort, knowing they will never see each other again.
Symbols of the upward and downward triangles form part of the background. The upward triangles symbolising phalluses, whilst the downward triangles represent the female sexual organs. Two lotuses on the pregnant angel represent the female yoni.
Orange and red deliberately used for the lotuses: orange, a color associated with the sacral chakra, denotes the creative sexual energy and the will to create. Red is synonymous with passion, desire and lust.
Finally, two eyes replace the nipples of the ample bosom: somebody’s watching! Now who could that be? Your guess is as good as mine.

This is why I have been using comb as a symbol that solves problem and brings harmony to various entities. I believe positive thinking is always the right way to tackle obstacles consequently helping us reach our desired destination.

It is a crucial time for all of us. As we are facing a big truth about life and death.
All of my write-up are feeling of each days. About my life and others too. On this work I am becoming dry leaves. This leaves grows at our garden.
Each morning I discover one gift from nature and that is some days dry leaves , some days birds feather, some days some dry flowers ….surprisely some days some person also .
I talk with them I made a community surrounding my living which wasn’t posable if this covid never came on our life. Because we was so busy with only our self.
Everything have two side one is bad another is good. I think all artist know how to survive on tuff time.
Like others I think I also trying to know about it on mentally and physically. Though its tuff but I think it
make me more stronger then before and now I can face anything for the rest of my life.

All of us feel sadness from time to time, the feeling of a void or being “empty” inside. I wanted to capture that with this piece. I purposely kept this in black and white for the viewer to feel the sense of emotion that this piece is intended to convey. The notion of waiting for something or someone to fill that emptiness and to bring joy back into one’s life. The images that fill our minds when we are overcome by this emotion paralyzes us, and we are found staring into space, deep in our thoughts and emotions. During this moment, time itself stays still and we cannot focus on anything else. Life is full of ups and downs but it’s during these down times that we learn more about ourselves. It’s important to take some time and reflect on your feelings. What is that something or someone in your life that you are longing for? What causes you to have an “empty” feeling inside?

The body has always been an original topography. A landscape as well as a piece of identity. It is always intense. The female body on the canvas comes out in the form of an imprint and it operates as a trace of invisible sufferings. We are facing the weight of its nudity and this white “marble” body shows us the inertia of a sculpture. It also reflects the world of silence around us today. The head is missing, showing only a fragment of the body, a torso. Heads are considered to be the command post while the face is the gate to the soul. Here the exhibited work is simply flesh. All the elements to seduce the eye have been removed and the fragmented body, by lying down, reconnects with animality. It gives the viewer another perspective. The half open position opposes what remains opaque and unsaid and what celebrates openness and lightness.

“Intermission” is a smaller painting of a snapshot between poses at a figure drawing session. It follows the type of nude poses that I am most drawn to: natural, cropped, and not too explicit. I prefer to leave characters and stories to the imagination, while providing the colors and shapes to jump-start the atmosphere of the scene.
In contrast to the ambiguous setting, I love to be bold with skin tones and brushstrokes. Flesh is solid and alive, and I want to show the many tiny movements and planes that create a functioning figure. Evey stroke and sigh carries significance. “Intermission” is just that: an exhale between staged stances.

The natural light, the informal situations, and boys that Mano selects make of his project a photographic statement of the artist’s perspective on the male erotic nude and the author’s photography.
Mano’s work blatantly demonstrates but, at the same time, not being pretentious, how the guys are now the new pin ups. The naked body of man now has for the first time an important role as an object of desire. The male nude has come out of the closet. New masculinities are coming out of the closet. According to Mano, if we’ll continue to objectify, we’re going to objectify all of us. In fashion and advertising we’re used to seeing half-naked women, and in sexual attitudes close to the ridicule. These attitudes begin to dilute at the moment there’s a change of roles and the man begins to adopt that role. The commercial effect of the naked body of man is different because society has transmitted the image of unwarranted gender stereotypes, and that reveals how absurd objectification is. The entrance of the naked man in advertising helps us to realize that it is possible to get out of the established clichés, that we can all be attractive without being caught by the stereotypes of society. The new masculinities can help to get rid of that motivation of contempt for the feminine and of overvaluation for the masculine, and Mano transfers this concept to the author’s portrait.
How male erotic photography has developed throughout history it is of great interest for Mano. Only since the 70s artists began to represent naked men’s bodies from a plastic point of view, without any justification about the nature of their works. Until then, that tendency existed, but always hidden. In this sense, Mano’s work arises as a result of mixing his interest in the history of eroticism, in the representation of the male body in art, and in the attraction he feels for a certain type of masculine beauty.
One can not fail to mention the admiration that Mano feels for other male erotic photographers, which it’s led him to become part of this group of artists. His/their photography is a celebratory of the male body. Warhol, Pierre et Gilles, Bacon, Mapplethorpe, Weber, Ritts are, for Mano, those who first channel this tendency and helped to reach the first steps towards true freedom of expression and normalization of both eroticism and male nude in Art. Painting, either erotic or pornographic, was classified as Art and exhibited in museums, but photography was limited to private consumption. The representation of the reality through photography made artists to adopt the existing codes in other plastic arts, always citing Classical Antiquity, for the distribution of their work. Despite this, all that masked male erotic photography from 1839 to 1969 set guidelines and broke taboos, and it has influenced what is done today, not only at artistic level but also in advertising. It could be said that the male erotic without justifications in photography returns to Art the place it occupied before the arrival of Christianity, before the arrival of the prohibitions.
Mano’s portraits speak of himself and his gaze through other bodies. On the anatomy of his models he puts his desires and his feelings, seizes his gestures and, until a certain point, vampirizes them to capture in image the condensation of this experience.

Today, more than ever, it seems impossible to build a work that has the body as a central element, considering only the restricted – though excessive – scope of visual representations. Our cultural context, in which multiple social, political, religious, legal, medical, scientific and sexual representations of the body are superimposed, highlights the complexity that emerges from this emerging web of meanings.
Similarly, we can no longer ignore the dynamic relationship that is established between the body of the work and the body of the observer at the moment of aesthetic fruition. This virtual space is always permeated by individual experiences in a constant, but not always conscious, dialogue with the other representations produced in the universe of culture. As Alain Corbin (2009, p. 9) expressed: “The body is a fiction, a set of mental representations, an unconscious image that is elaborated, dissolved, reconstructed through the history of the subject, with the mediation of social discourses and symbolic systems”.
What is or what can the body be, this fragile and opaque wrapping that encloses the subject, the beginning and the end of humanity itself? At this moment, the world seems to have no answers to this question. To foreigners or simply to those who are forced to move for the maintenance of life, their right to freedom and symbolic exercise is suppressed, leaving only the recognition of their own fragility: “My body, my Home” (2016).

“My strongest childhood memory of being moved by nature was at age 5. I stared mesmerized by the wind blowing through a sea of long grass at my grandfather’s farm in Missouri. The sun shining on daffodils on an Easter morning could fill me with joy that I could not put into words, but felt compelled to express. At first, I tried to tell my family, but they just looked at me, puzzled. It was frustrating. At age 7, I began drawing in earnest. Even after years of practice, I knew I wasn’t skilled enough yet to convey to others the feelings nature aroused in me.
As an adult I tried naturalistic landscape painting. The work was competent, but not exciting. There was nothing that moved viewers or distinguished the art from that of so many landscape painters.. A few years ago, I was on the verge of despair that I would never accomplish much as an artist when a blessing arrived, disguised as a setback. I injured my painting arm and could not make the vigorous motions brushes require. So, I began using painting knives.
Suddenly, my work came alive with rich texture and color. I experimented with unusual colors that I’d had for years and had never known how to use. The paintings began to sing. They excited viewers in ways I didn’t expect and couldn’t have predicted. I began to get accepted into more juried shows and have won two awards of excellence this year. What joy!”

The artwork is a painting that is a study from behind of a nude man sitting. As it is multi-colored, the race and ethnicity of the man cannot really be identified. The colorful style was inspired by German Expressionism, Impressionism, and Fauvism. Around 35 colors are used in the image. The viewer also starts to see the body as shapes and colors. The man is holding an object and looking at something that we do not know of – and this creates a sense of wonder into the painting. The viewer is lead to imagine what the man is looking at. The painting was made when the artist was a student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Artists have the ability to visualize an idea or concept. Over the years, I have enjoyed working in a variety of modes (abstraction, representation, illustration, non objective) and a variety of subject matters such as landscapes, cityscapes and figure drawings.
For years, I was intrigued about how nudity was used in Hindu temples at which I worshipped, specifically in the architecture pillar known as “Tudals”. These pillars included nudes and sculptural elements. Hinduism is not open about sex, however religious sites have portrayed nudes, sexuality, the human life-cycle, and sensational imaginaiers for centuries without any hesitation. Tudal’s serves many functions : to teach married couples about the proper sexual practices, to spark arousal in those same worshippers in the hope of growing the Hindu population, and to repel evil spirits from the temple itself.
Referencing the tudal tradition, I created a body of large scale works that represent the story of the human life cycle. I also choose to employ the stylization and non realistic proportion used in Tudal art. I started with a loose expressive fill of color and textures using acrylic paint: I then applied a charcoal underdrawing for figures, on top of which I flushed out the forms and refined the color with oil paint. I used the symbols for King and Queen/Shiva and Parvati as the main character in this series. Through the representation of taboo subject matters — sex, nudity, and eroticism — I want to share my specific cultural background, and bring awareness to the Hindu Tudal tradition.

During graduate work at Southern Methodist University (1976-78) I enrolled in a printmaking course and explored woodcut (block) printing. The technique of cutting lines in wood was related to drawing (incising) lines into clay. This work titled “Sleep”, a woodcut print, depicts a man and woman in bed asleep, the man is clothed and woman is nude. Clothed figures is more common in my work however looking through older work, I found this piece with a single nude figure. Maybe it is based on a personal story or feeling at the time. It is also definitely an exploration of lines cut into wood.

Nudity in art has generally reflected social standards of the time in aesthetics and modesty/ morality. At all times human history, the human body has been principle subjects for artists. It has been represented in Painting and statues since prehistory. Depiction of naked body has often been used symbolic ways, as an extended metaphor for complex and multifaceted concepts. Basically, nudity is the state of being nude; nakedness, but in my works, I wanted to share the visual expression of it and the reality of nature which cannot be denied (the truth of life and existence), we were born naked and die naked. Nudity is freedom, confidence and independence. Likewise, I believe it is a medium for all the story tellers to express the untold experiences of life. In art nudity is a continuous process of experiencing the freedom of thoughts. Therefore, my works in acrylic medium on canvas represent the reality of life, and portray the people who love to be unclothed and be own self, free and lively.

By simultaneously assuming the roles of subject, photographer, make-up artist and set designer, the artist is able to give her philosophies a visual body and to create pieces that are quite intimate.

Painting the figure was a personal challenge. Of course, I learned how to render and interpret the figure during my university studies, but I never chose to include them in my artworks. When I found my work in something of a rut, I began a period of self-reflection. While honesty was and is a key to my belief system, I was not being totally authentic. With the male nude, I confronted myself. By giving credence to cultural bias and prejudice I veiled the depth and expression of my own truths. Aspects of saints and deities are comprehensive manifestations of humanity, including the implicit sexuality in gods and humans. The subjects for the images were chosen with a greatest respect.

The main content of my work deals with distorted, bent, merging, disappearing and unrealistic representations of bodies in unreal spaces or natural landscapes. Proportions and correctness play a subordinate role. The focus is on unrealistic and mystical creations. In my opinion, reality can be captured technologically better than ever before. Therefore, I do not see any motivation to produce photorealistic paintings. Rather, painting for me is a playground of unlimited imagination. The figure or figures in the center of the painting thus appear isolated and at the same time very present and shining. However, the backgrounds now develop more in the direction of nature images. The Nature effect brings a nice additional component: the mood. I combine intuitive with precise techniques and I use many different materials. Recently I also work directly with the color of the painting ground. The human anatomy and especially the musculoskeletal structure are a very important part of my work and fascinate me enormously. My inspirations I find therefore mostly in the human being itself. The human being is the center of my art. Women, men, young people and children are portrayed. Lately I also integrate animals. The figures mostly show themselves in their natural garb. The reason for the naked depictions is the expression of absolute honesty. The beauty of body aesthetics should not be removed by clothing. Often, I go one step further and show muscle fibers and bones next to ordinary bodies.
In most of my works, I try to represent with strong symbolism. The visual language is strong and exaggerated to convey a clear message.

In my search to discover the essential conditions that may define our reality by stripping down to the barest elements all that possesses plasticity, observing and recording from life the forms and structures, even fragments of motile elements, the inescapable symmetry of living form and its essential asymmetric appearance have often driven me into an obsessive ritual of attempting to reproduce the essence of organicity. It is as much a matter of reflecting on the human condition as it is of grappling with the questions of existence since the beginning of time.

Each painting is based on an individual story of people I have met in my life. I have titled it as – Untold Stories, which brings out hidden stories of people through my paintings. The beauty of this series is that anyone can relate the emotions and feelings shown in the paintings, to their personal stories. I will leave it up to the audience to interpret each painting, according to their life experiences.
I have used minimal color using white, black, and red on recycled brown paper. This symbolizes the limitations of the social acceptance of the figurative artwork. Though figurative artwork is yet to be accepted easily in Nepal, I am hopeful that people will eventually understand its importance and accept it as a creative form of art like any other art.

“I call this “Welcome To My Boudoir” 8.5 x 11”. I had been inspired by boudoir photography and this particular piece of artwork was produced for a model that had reached out to me. Also this artwork was the first time I used a combination of soft and tendre pencils; H, 4B, 8B. These pencils really made the figure drawing pop out of the page. Usually I had always drawn using a graphite pencil/ mechanical pencil. Therefore this was definitely a whole new way for me to produce sketches. While I was producing this sketch I tried to focus more towards constructing the models body rather than just drawing what I see. And in doing this I believe that I will be able to generate a more relaxed style which will be more unique to my flow of drawing.Everyday I try to challenge myself with a different study of the female form in order to improve my art.”
