Visual Artist

Ceyda Oskay is an artist who has exhibited her work in India, Kuwait, Turkey, Greece, Iceland, USA, UK, and Ireland. She has also given workshops at Oxford University, the Istanbul Biennial, and participated in the Liverpool Alternative Biennial. She has an MA in Contemporary Art Practice, Public Sphere from the Royal College of Art. She works across various art mediums : from painting to photography and installation but the main themes she works on are migration and locations and her work frequently includes experimentation and interaction. She was recently a visiting artist at the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University – Fine Arts Department, where she taught Painting and Sculpture Students, as part of the Something Useful Project. Oskay was also a journalist and has various publications to her name. These include, a book chapter on the social significance of weaving in Arabia in the book compilation, All Things Arabia, by Brill Publications. She is also an aid worker, and designer of textiles products.
