Fading Beauty
By Shanaka Kulathunga, Sri Lanka
“A live model painting done in my studio … A life size painting of an experienced model who’s now in her middle age . It took about 07 sittings to complete this work .. it was a little difficult experience as i had to see the aesthetic beauty of a woman whose beauty is changing with time ; the eternal truth of changing nature of life . I tried to depict the realistic form of the figure with the oil technique which I have been practicing during the past few years .. the process of seeking the skin tones , values , textures and volumes.”
